The 199 Mott Street condominium building is part of Alfa Development's "Green Collection" of sustainable downtown properties.
Located in the Nolita area of New York, between Kenmare and Spring Street, this "steampunk aesthetic" development was designed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects and is LEED® Gold certified. 199 Mott St is a boutique, eight storey building, which includes a ground-level retail area, 11 residential units and a rooftop terrace.
The owners raised the bar on luxury condominium construction with this project by implementing high-performance design and strategies to maximize energy efficiency, thermal comfort and indoor air quality.
Isokorb® structural thermal breaks were installed at the balcony connections, providing continuous insulation at the building envelope that will prevent heat loss and condensation. This simple step of including Isokorb® structural thermal breaks in the concrete slabs provides energy savings, achieving 90% reduction in thermal conductivity for the connection area.
