Thermal separation with a structural thermal break, such as Schöck Isokorb®, is a common practice for balconies. Parapets, on the other hand, are often still wrapped with insulating material, whereby the energy loss is still high because the component is still part of the heated space. Compared to the wrapped solution, Isokorb® CXT type A offers a more efficient solution without heat loss. Installed in combination with Part Z, Isokorb CXT type A provides safe fire protection along the entire connection length.
Take a look at the many benefits for planning and the construction site.
Schöck Isokorb® CXT type A has a general technical approval from the DIBt
With Isokorb® CXT type A, there is no need to insulate the parapet on the inside, thus streamlined building components can be realised, even in exposed concrete
Compared to the wrapped solution, Isokorb® CXT type A offers a more efficient solution without heat loss
The fact that there is no insulation on the inside increases the usable floor space
No auxiliary constructions are needed for the installation of Schöck Isokorb® CXT type A, it can be set up directly on the slab formwork or element slab and the longitudinally adjustable Combar® rods ensure precise height compensation.
Schöck Isokorb® CXT type A can be used both before and after the slab reinforcement has been laid and in fresh concrete. In addition, on-site reinforcement can be dispensed with.
As there is no insulation layer wrapping the parapet, the installation of railings, cover plates, or cap flashings can be done without penetrating the insulation layer and no additional sealing is needed there.
In case of fire protection requirements, Isokorb® CXT type A in combination with Isokorb® CXT type A Part Z offers reliable fire protection REI30 over the entire connection line.
