Baden-Baden, Juli 23 – Schöck AG again achieved an exceptionally good turnover of around €260 m in the 2022 business year. The result was announced by the building product manufacturer at the company's annual general meeting on 21 July at its headquarters in Baden-Baden. All projects and initiatives were progressing as planned. The latest product developments open up new possibilities for expressing architectural ideas in buildings and once again underpin Schöck's reputation in the construction sector as a pioneer in sustainable construction.
Schöck AG closed the 2022 business year with an increase in turnover of €24.2 m (10.2 percent) to €259.8 m. This is a remarkable development, considering that Schöck had felt the impact of the current crisis in the construction sector as early as September last year. It can be attributed to the range of construction products that Schöck manufactures which are used in an early phase of the construction process in the building shell. Schöck can therefore be seen as a kind of early indicator of future developments in the construction industry.
Mike Bucher, Chairman of the Executive Board at Schöck AG, remarked, “We have emerged from the two previous financial years in a strong position, which is why we have coped with the challenges very well and demonstrated even in these difficult times that we are a reliable
construction partner. We were always able to deliver, irrespective of the demands, whether for products or services.”
Successful strategy: “Shaping tomorrow's construction today”
With a view to the 2025 strategy, “Shaping tomorrow's construction today”, Schöck continued relentlessly with the development and improvement of its existing products during the past business year. The focus has been on pioneering construction technologies that support energy-efficient building – such as the innovative Sconnex, a highlight of the product range. With Sconnex, Schöck offers a thermal insulation element which significantly reduces thermal bridges at walls and columns. Both variants – Sconnex type P for columns and type W for walls – were certified as passive house components.
Outlook
Investments in new products and sustainable technologies, expansion of the sites and capacities, joint ventures or cooperations such as recently the initial steps with the software start-up Fox Base from Düsseldorf – Schöck has its sights set firmly on the future, despite or perhaps even because of the ongoing challenges posed by the current global and economic situation.
“We see the economic situation and significant challenges faced by the construction industry such as sustainability, digitalisation or shortage of skilled labour as an opportunity for us. We will therefore stay on course and unwaveringly continue with our strategic developments and activities,” announced Mike Bucher, as he sees the company as being well prepared for the complex challenges thanks to the continuous adaptation processes.
Sustainability as a foundation
Alongside the publication of its 2022 financial statement, Schöck is also presenting its first sustainability report. The report is based on the 20 criteria of the German Sustainability Code (DNK) with performance indicators of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and therefore presents the full bandwidth of Schöck's ecological, economic and social commitments. Topics range from climate protection, energy efficiency, delivery chains through to product responsibility, employment and corporate management.
