Sustainability Report - Schöck AG 2022

Between 2017 and 2021, energy efficiency measures were implemented at the BadenBaden, Essen and Halle sites, with savings totalling 868 MWh in 2021. The following measures make a significant contribution: New factory buildings in Baden-Baden and Essen, with consumption 20% below the standard of EnEV. Heat recovery with the welding fume extraction system in Baden-Baden. Pressure reduction in the compressed air system at the Baden-Baden plant. New LED lighting outdoors and in various factory buildings in Baden-Baden. Thanks to the continuous expansion of the photovoltaic systems, the energy demand in Baden-Baden and Essen is already partly covered by our own renewable sources in 2022. At Baden-Baden, energy-saving LED lighting was installed and a further module with an output of 135 kWp was added to the photovoltaic systems. The efficiency increase therefore improves from the previous year's value of 4.9% to 6.2% and thus exceeds the target of 5% set for 2021. In Halle and Essen, the increase in production is the cause of the continued rise in final energy consumption. At the international sites in Pucking, Tychy and Pilis, measures were also taken to improve energy efficiency that will be reflected in a positive balance in the coming years. As the buildings there are not all owned by Schöck, the opportunities are fewer compared to the German locations. 55 Schöck Sustainability Report 2022
